2021 Super Bowl commercial rundown

2021 Super Bowl Commercial Rundown | Roux LLC Franklin, TN
As is tradition, the croux enjoyed watching the Super Bowl (congrats Bucs!), sharing classic game day food with friends and family, and assessing this year's commercials.

Some major companies opted not to spend their dollars on commercials this year, and instead made donations to COVID-19 relief funds. Still, others chose to create ads that offered something to smile about, whether funny or heartfelt.

We each shared our favorites below, and we'd love to hear your thoughts. Sound off in the comments!

Lianna

My favorite commercial was the Jeep one. I’m already partial to Jeeps, but their heartwarming message about meeting in the middle and setting aside our differences as a country really resonated. The final screen read, “the ReUnited States of America,” and it gave me chills. I love the message of positivity and coming back together, and while I feel like a lot of brands attempted that, Jeep really said it best.

Lauren

I was laughing so hard at this one. I thought they did a great job at grabbing the viewers’ attention and keeping it funny while still highlighting Alexa's features and how she can make a person's life easier.

Karen

This was my favorite Super Bowl 55 commercial because it poses a very interesting and thought-provoking question.

It’s only worth it if you enjoy it—Michelob Ultra—are you happy because you win, or do you win because you’re happy?

Stefan

My favorite was the Toyota spot about Jessica Long because it was such a great story of love and hope without too much selling. Toyota showed their support and sponsorship with a memorable story.

Thanks for reading! We'd love to hear your takes below.

Every January we like to gather as a croux and plan for the year ahead. It serves as a holiday celebration and a strategy session. We look forward to it every year. Over the last few years, we’ve also begun incorporating a “word of the year” practice, where we each choose a word that we will focus on throughout the year.
